The second super series event of this year, the Victor Korea Badminton Premier Super Series will be played at Seoul, Korea from 25th-30th Jan-2011
This is the first year when the Super Series events have been categorized as the Super Series & the Super Series premier events, the latter offering greater prize money to the players. The Victor Korea tournament will be having a total purse of $12,00,000.
India's top hope Saina Nehwal is seeded 4th in the women's singles and is slated to play against Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei in the first round. The top 3 seeds are the 3 Wang's from China, Wang Xin(1), Wang Shixian(2) and Wang Yihan(3).
In the mens' singles P Kashyap is part of the main draw & he will be playing against Tanongsak Saensomboonsok of Thailand in the first round.
In the womens' doubles the Indian pair of Jwala Gutta & Ashwini Ponnappa will be playing against Chan Tsz Ka & Chao Hoi Wah of Hong Kong in the first round.
In the mixed doubles, Jwala Gutta & V.Diju face the challenge of Nathan Robertson & Jenny Wallwork of England in the first round.
