Aditya Elango

Aditya Elango - Rising Indian Badminton Star

Aditya Elango, currently ranked #85 in the world in the mens singles, is one the best upcoming badminton players in India today.
Aditya Elango, who hails from Tamil Nadu was ranked No.2 for India in the Juniors. He has represented India in the World junior badminton championships & the Asian junior badminton championships.

After moving to the Senior category, Aditya underwent a surgery for Achilles tendon on 9th Sep-2009 during the south zone championship in Belgaon, due to which he missed participating in the Indian tournaments for some time. He however managed to bounce back, to not only defend his world ranking but also to make good progress on it.

Aditya was coached by Mr. Sanjeev Sachdeva who spotted his talent when Aditya was just 10 years of age. That was in 1999 & after Mr. Sachdeva retired & shifted from Chennai to Chandigarh, Aditya was lucky to get a mentor in the form of Mr. Siddharth Jain (Aditya calls him Siddharth Anna) who is a former French open badminton champion.
