15-year old, P.V.Sindhu (Pusarla Venkat Sindhu) is one of the best upcoming badminton talents from India. She trains at the P.Gopichand badminton academy in Hyderabad. Sindhu is supported by the Olympic Gold Quest.
Sindhu's parents are both former Volleyball players, her father PV Ramana being an Asian Games bronze medallist, and winner of the Arjuna award in the year 2000. Given such a background it was no surprise that Sindhu got interested in sports at a very young age.
Inspired by the badminton exploits of Gopichand, Sindhu started playing badminton at the age of 8. The first national title came her way, when she won the under-10 championship at Kochi and since then winning has become a habit for her.
She is considered by many badminton experts to be one of the most promising players for the future, who can emulate the success of Saina Nehwal.
