Trupti Murgunde

Trupti Murgunde is one of the best badminton players from India in the womens' singles event. Trupti was born in Pune, and later shifted to Bangalore to hone her badminton skills at the Tata Padukone badminton academy. Trupti became the National Badminton champion in 2009. Her current world ranking is 90.

2009:
Trupti Murgunde won the Yonex Czech Open International title at Brno is Czech Republic when she defeated Jeanine Cicognini of Switzerland 21-17, 21-12.

Trupti Murgunde won the NPL All-India ranking badminton championship at the KBA court stadiums in Bangalore defeating P.C.Thulasi 18-21, 21-8, 21-11 in 61 minutes.

2010:
Trupti Murgunde clinched the National Badminton Championship women's singles title for the first time, at Guwahati, defeating the defending champion Sayali Gokhale of Pune, 21-17, 21-7
(The highlight of the event at Guwahati was that all the 4 woman shuttlers who reached the semifinals, Aditi Mutatkar, Gayatri Vartak, Sayali Gokhale & Trupti Murgunde, were from Pune)
